Brother lists a 4 x 4 inch maximum embroidery area for both the SE600 and the SE700. The two machines differ in what Brother ships with them and in which optional hoops Brother’s own pages name for each, which is what this page lays out. Brother gives inches only. A 4 inch square is 101.6 mm, so a 100 x 100 mm design is the largest round metric size that fits the literal field, with 0.8 mm to spare on each side. Add a stitched border or a registration mark and you are over. The SE600 is shown as discontinued and the SE700 as a current model.
The SE600 page states a 4 x 4 inch field with an included 4 x 4 inch hoop. The SE700 carton list says “Embroidery frame set (medium)” and gives no size, so we do not assign one.

These come from Brother’s accessory pages, where each hoop carries a “for use with” list. The 4 x 4 inch SA432 and the 6.75 x 4 inch SA434 both name the SE600. The SA434 is the only listed way past a 4 inch width on this machine, though its page does not say whether the whole 6.75 inch width is usable on the SE600, so read the SE600 manual before relying on it.

Brother’s accessory pages name only the SAMFM100 magnetic hoop for the SE700. That does not prove no other hoop fits; it means none of the other pages we checked names the SE700. If you need a different hoop, ask Brother support.
The magnetic hoop both share
The SAMFM100 is a 4 x 4 inch magnetic hoop. Its page lists the SE600, SE625, SE630, SE700 and SE725 among others. That list is Brother’s claim about its own hoop. Our magnetic hoop page compares it with Brother’s other magnetic frames.
Which one is larger?
Neither. Both are 4 x 4 inch machines, so a design that fits one fits the other. If you need a 5 x 7 inch field, look at the PE800 and PE900 or the SE1900 and SE2000 . To test a particular design, use the calculator and pick either machine.
