Search results for a magnetic hoop for a specific machine are mostly sellers’ own claims. This page does something narrower. It uses only the compatibility lists that Brother publishes for its own magnetic hoops and frames, and it labels each as Brother’s claim with a link to the page it came from. Other hoop makers’ charts are not included, because we could not read them (see the end of the page).

Read the second column as what Brother says, not as something we confirmed on a machine. We did not test any of these. Three details in Brother’s wording are worth knowing:

  • The SAMF180N is titled a 4 x 7 inch magnetic frame, yet its listing says it works with “5 x 7 embroidery field” machines. Both statements are Brother’s. Confirm the usable area before you build a design around it.
  • The SAMF180 is titled a 5 x 7 inch “sash frame”, and its text calls it a “Magnetic Flat Frame”. It lists the NQ series, Stellaire, Dream Machine and Luminaire machines, and also mentions “V Series” without models, so only the named models are matched above.
  • The PRVMFM and PRVMFL list PR-series machines and, on the PRVMFM page, a “PR100e” that looks like a typo for PR1000e. We matched only machines whose names are spelled out in full.

By machine

Brother’s lists put the popular small machines here:

  • Brother PE800, PE900, SE1900, SE2000, NS1250E, NS2850D: the SAMF180N. See the PE800 and PE900 page and the SE1900 and SE2000 page .
  • Brother SE600, SE625, SE630, SE700, SE725, PE535, PE545, PE550D, NS1750D, NS1850D, LB7000BNDL: the 4 x 4 inch SAMFM100. See the SE600 and SE700 page .
  • Brother NQ1700E, NQ1600E, NQ3600D, NQ3700D, Stellaire, Luminaire and Dream Machine models: the SAMF180, and the 7 x 12 inch SAMF300 for the Luminaire, Stellaire, VM6200D, VM5200 and Dream Machine models it names.
  • Brother PR670E, PR680W, PR1050X and PR1055X: the PRVMFM (4 x 4) and PRVMFL (5 x 7) clamp frames.

If your model is not in these lists, that means Brother’s pages do not name it, not that it cannot work. Ask Brother support before assuming either way.

Why the machine’s own field still decides what fits

A magnetic hoop holds fabric differently, but it does not enlarge the machine’s embroidery field. Brother’s guidance on larger frames makes the same point for multi-position hoops: the single-design area stays what the machine allows. Use the calculator with your machine selected to check a design against the field first.

Other makers’ magnetic hoops

Third-party magnetic hoop makers publish their own compatibility charts, and those are the right source for a non-Brother hoop. We did not reach those charts from our research tools, so this page does not repeat sellers’ lists. When you shop, find the maker’s chart for your exact machine model and treat a reseller’s claim as a claim.
